Ekundayo Urban illustrations

Ekundayo Urban illustrations

Ekundayo is an artist with quite the background. Originally born in Honolulu Hawaii, Ekundayo lived with his parents until the age of five when his father kidnapped him and snuck him out of the country into the U.S. away from his mother who desperately sought her son and even started a clearing house for missing children. Ekundayo's father later dies from cancer and Enkundayo lives with his aunt and uncle where he finds his uncles graffiti black book and is completely inspired by art.

The Dept of Justice finally finds Ekundayo and returns him to his mother at age 13, but the love for art never dies and he later attends art school only to drop out and pursue his passion for art creating urban illustrations in a graffiti style.

Stuntkid Digital Artwork

Stuntkid Digital Artwork

I remember meeting Jason Levesque aka Stuntkid at the Multiuniversal exhibit during last years Art Basel Miami. After being pleasantly surprised that in the dark muggy space there lay a handful of good artists, some better than what I saw at upscale galleries, I came across a couple of digital art pieces tacked up on the wall that caught my eye. I chatted with Stuntkid for a while as we looked at his hand drawn hemlet in acrylic paint. I thought to myself, this guy definietly has talent. Peep the urban digital art below.

Sleepy City Urban Photography

Sleepy City Urban Photography

If you are the type of 9-5er that is content with work, eat, tv, sleep and repeat cycle then I warn you stay away from this site as Sleepycity is a photoblog that explores the undergrounds of the city, the abandoned places, derelict structures, subways, and sewers and exposes the experience for those who seek it. Sleepycity's urban photographysets the stage for some of the worlds most beautiful decaying structures that were once inhabited by the masses or just a few people.

Graffiti Sculptures Peeta

Graffiti Sculptures Peeta

Introduced to me by a fellow sculptor Eric Cloutier, Manuel di Rita aka Peeta is an Italian graffiti artist/sculptor. Peeta's work is absolutely pushing the bounds of graffiti and moving off the street walls unto 3 dimensional formats. From glass to aluminum and cardboard to bronze, Peeta has been experimenting with various materials to make his graffiti into sculptural artwork. Peeta even dissected an urban sneaker to create one of his pieces which makes his creations innovative and absolutely groundbreaking in the graffiti sculpture field.

Saturno Butto Contemporary Art

Saturno Butto Contemporary Art

I'm sure that by now I've got your undivided attention, so let me introduce Saturno Brutto the religious fetish painter whose themes often consist of a juxtaposition between sexual imagery with religious icons, absolutely delightful I know! Saturno Brutto was trained in Venice in classical painting and found his niche a little later in his life and has gained a good amount of recognition for his truly unique style in the contemporary art field that is reminiscent of Caravaggio's dramatic and strikingly realistic style.

Enjoy!
