Echoes Of Silence from The Weeknd

Echoes Of Silence from The Weeknd

The only silence echoing after listening to The Weeknd are the 30 seconds after you finish listening. You're processing what you just experienced and you want more. So was the case with his first mixtape, House of Balloons, which was released Spring 2011 and made him a household name amongst music enthusiasts. That tape, co-signed by his friend Drake, was filled with hard drug references, tales of wild party girls, and love gone wrong. Sonically, it was experimental, it was futuristic, and it literally made us fiend for more. That more came in the form of Thursday, his second offering during Fall 2011. Thursday was an 8 to the 10 that was House of Balloons. It's standout track "The Zone" featured a guest verse from the aforementioned Drake and The Weeknd singing "I don't wanna die tonight baby, so let me sip this slow".
